FG Partners with Wema Bank to Establish MSME Tech Hubs in 7 States
The Federal Government, in collaboration with Wema Bank, is launching the FGN/ALAT Digital and SkillNnovation Hub initiative to empower 1 million young Nigerians with digital skills and related expertise. This strategic move is part of the Tinubu administration’s dedication to creating more digital employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
The first centers will be established in Lagos and Borno States, followed by Katsina, Cross River, Anambra, Oyo, and Kano. The hubs will offer tailored financial products, training, and support to enable young entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses, ultimately contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
The FGN/ALAT Digital and SkillNnovation Hub will serve as a centralized platform providing cutting-edge digital skills, mentorship, and networking opportunities. The focus is on promoting entrepreneurship, skills development, and integrating young employees into the workforce, with the aim of employing one million youths in the digital economy and upskilling SMEs to enhance the country’s economy.
The specialized curriculum of the FGN/ALAT Digital and SkillNnovation Hub will train 1 million young adults in software engineering, product management, business analysis, cloud computing, and product design. Additionally, expert mentors will guide and support 500,000 SMEs across Nigeria to foster business growth and advancement.
Through a collaborative effort between the Federal Government and WEMA Bank, N500 million will be allocated as grants to support SMEs and techpreneurs as part of this initiative.
