The Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK), Kogi West Senatorial District was established by Kogi State Government with a Charter from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja, on June 26, 2023, as the 62nd State-owned University and 265th University in Nigeria. The University is to take off with Phase-1, in September 2023, using a compound / hybrid Faculty model consisting of three Faculties, Arts and Humanities, Science and Computing, and Management, Administration, and Social Sciences. The three faculties will house twenty-five (25) programs, in seventeen (17) academic departments. There will also be specialized Research and Academic Centres, Learning Resources, and ICT centers.
In accordance with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 2001, as amended, the Committee on the Establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba, hereby invites applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:
Vice-Chancellor at the Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK)
They are inviting applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor will serve as the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the University, responsible for promoting academic excellence, maintaining order, advising the Council, regulating admissions, and overseeing administrative control.
Applicants for the Vice-Chancellor position must be distinguished scholars with a Ph.D. degree, a Full Professor with 7 to 10 years of experience, and a proven track record in academic and administrative leadership. They should have a good understanding of the university’s vision, attract research grants, demonstrate integrity in financial management, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be proficient in ICT.

Registrar at the Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK)
Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK) is inviting applications for the position of Registrar. The Registrar will serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, responsible for day-to-day administration, record-keeping, and serving as the Secretary to various statutory bodies.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate must possess a good University Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division and an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. Postgraduate degrees will be an added advantage.
- They should have at least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification experience in university administration, with at least three (3) years as a Deputy Registrar in a State/Federal University.
- The candidate must be below 60 years of age by September 30, 2023, and a registered member or Fellow of any Professional Administrative Bodies.
- They should demonstrate impeccable integrity, leadership skills, ability to relate with people, and have a clear vision for the development of the University and the Registry.
- Familiarity with the workings of a Nigerian University system and proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are essential.
- The Registrar shall hold the office for a single term of five (5) years.

Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Bursar. The Bursar will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible for managing and controlling the University’s financial affairs, providing investment advice, and overseeing financial reporting and resource mobilization activities.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate must possess a good University Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognized institution, along with an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
- They should be registered members or Fellows of recognized Professional Bodies such as ICAN, ICMA, CPA, ACCA, etc.
- The candidate must have at least twelve (12) years of relevant post-qualification experience in financial management of a University.
- They should be proficient in ICT and up-to-date with current financial reporting trends like IFRS and IPSAS.
- Knowledge in using Microsoft Office Package, especially Microsoft Excel, and other Spreadsheet tools is required.
- The age limit for the Bursar position is between 45 and 55 years by September 30, 2023.

Director of Physical Planning & Development
The Director of Physical Planning and Development will oversee the physical development and maintenance of the University’s estates and buildings. Duties include day-to-day maintenance, planning, and management of structures, coordination of development projects, and ensuring compliance with the University’s Physical Masterplan. Other responsibilities include presenting reports on facility status and leading the reticulation of power, data, and water supplies.
Qualities of the Applicant:
- Degree in Architecture, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least Second Class Lower Division.
- Computer literate with relevant experience in a University setting.
- Minimum of 12 years’ engineering experience, with 10 years in senior management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Maximum age of 60 by September 30, 2023.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Personal integrity and transparency.
Tenure: Single term of four (4) years.

Director of Academic Planning at the Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK)
The Director of Academic Planning will oversee the academic directorate, manage academic programmes, and maintain academic standards. Duties include evaluating new academic proposals, promoting university affiliations, and maintaining curriculum reviews. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and/or Senate.
Qualities of the Applicant:
- Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division), Master’s and Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Educational Management from a recognised University. Bias in academic planning preferred.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably as Deputy Director of Academic Planning in a recognised University.
- Computer literate with proficiency in relevant applications for academic planning.
- Adequate exposure in key university units.
Tenure: Single term of four (4) years.
