Nigeria’s northeast and the Lake Chad region are currently facing one of the most severe ongoing humanitarian crises globally. The crisis, now in its ninth year, has affected millions of people and shows no signs of abating. The situation has led to internal displacement, food insecurity, malnutrition, and outbreaks of epidemics such as cholera, Ebola, and COVID-19.

ALIMA’s Presence and Impact:

ALIMA has been actively working in Nigeria since 2017, implementing projects in various locations, including Muna Garage, Maiduguri MC, and Monguno. Their interventions focus on primary and secondary healthcare, with an emphasis on treating and preventing acute malnutrition, maternal health, mental health, responding to epidemics, providing surgical services, supporting displaced populations, and addressing gender-based violence.

The Role of Project Logistics Manager:

ALIMA is currently seeking a skilled Project Logistics Manager to join their mission in Katsina, Nigeria. As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all logistics activities in the project area. This includes ensuring the implementation of support services, managing material resources, maintaining functional facilities, establishing a robust supply chain, and adhering to ALIMA’s logistics and security guidelines. You will also supervise the logistics team, contribute to mapping local actors, participate in project proposal development, and provide regular reports.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should have a university degree in Logistics, Supply, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian logistics supply management. Experience with a medical international NGO is preferred. Strong team management, leadership, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, is required. Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is an asset.

Working Conditions and Benefits:

The contract for this position is under French law, with an initial duration of 6 months and the possibility of renewal. The salary will be based on experience, and per diem will be provided. ALIMA covers travel costs, accommodation, medical insurance, and evacuation for its employees.
