INEC Commences Payment of N13,000 to Adhoc Staff for Gubernatorial Elections 2023
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced payment of adhoc staff who worked during the gubernatorial elections which took place on March 18th, 2023. The amount paid to each adhoc staff is N13,000.
The payment exercise which started on Monday, March 27th, 2023, is expected to continue until all adhoc staff who participated in the election exercise receive their payments.
Speaking on the development, a representative of INEC stated that the commission is committed to ensuring that all those who contributed to the success of the election exercise are adequately compensated. He further stated that the payment of adhoc staff is a top priority for the commission and that INEC is working diligently to ensure that all payments are made in a timely manner.
It will be recalled that the gubernatorial elections held in various states across the country on March 18th, 2023, were successful. The election exercise saw the participation of a large number of adhoc staff who worked tirelessly to ensure that the exercise was conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
The payment of adhoc staff is a commendable move by INEC, as it shows the commission’s commitment to ensuring that all those who contribute to the electoral process are adequately compensated. The commission’s efforts to prioritize the payment of adhoc staff will no doubt serve as a motivation for future electoral exercises.
