NPC Census Training Date No Longer 31st March.
National Population Commission Holds Workshop on Census Processes and Operations for 2023 Population and Housing Census.
Today, the Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) gathered at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State for a workshop on census operations and processes in preparation for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
The workshop is considered a critical step towards the success of the census and is expected to provide an update on the status of census operations.
According to a member of the NPC Census Publicity Committee who spoke during the meeting, the workshop will also facilitate effective oversight and coordination of the entire census process at all levels.
The committee is currently meeting in Port Harcourt to conclude on the date of the training and the census proper, and to kick off sensitization and awareness campaigns.
During the meeting, the member mentioned that the training for Supervisors and Enumerators would no longer hold this week, and the Census date would be fixed between the first and second week of May.
He stressed that applicants with pending status need to attend the training, provided they have a valid NPC code.
The member also emphasized the need to pick a proper date for the census, as the month of April is filled with many religious activities.
With the workshop now underway, it is expected that the NPC will make further announcements regarding the upcoming census, and citizens are urged to stay tuned for updates.
