How many times have you put off the things you know if you do them will take you up the ladder? It is high time you lived up to the challenge and face life as a serious business knowing that nothing good comes easy. If it comes easily, know assuredly that it's going to go easily just like this adage says " easy come, easy go".
A lot of times we have great dreams we want to achieve like we need oxygen but throw in the towel quickly at the slightest defeat. Some people haven't started yet and they're already discouraged. They start with a negative mindset. Their bodies and mind tend to oppose their great ambition. In this post, we are going to look at various strategies to help you live up to the challenge and face life squarely to get to your desired dream.
Firstly, you've got to work on your mindset. Begin to cut out the negative things you digest daily. Maybe turning off your radio, television or movies or even your mobile devices, social media or whatsoever pours massive ingredients into your mind, shut them off. They are a lot of things that we enjoy that cunningly programme our minds. We think exactly to the inclination of what we feed our minds. Just like Jim Rohn said, " everyday stand guard at the door of your mind". Yes if you don't stand guard and choose what you pay attention to, you'll be programmed. Defeat is not outward, it is mostly inward and believe you, me the inner guy is more powerful.
Next, move on to giving yourself proper nourishment that will stem a spontaneous growth in your life. Begin to digest positive content, read books and materials that will help you achieve your ambition. Set a daily target on how to reach your dreams and vision.
Choose the right kind of friends. You can't expect to grow positively when you follow the wrong crowd. So, choose your friends and association wisely remember there's a regular and popular saying that "birds of a feather flock together". Spend less time with people whose presence will not add value to your life but will rather draw you back to the mud. Learn to keep company with people that will always have a surprise challenge for you. Associate with people whose ambition and desires are similar to yours.
You need a mentor. Yes, we all need to have a mentor. Somebody who has gotten to a height above you that can see clearer than you. All great men of all ages once had a mentor. Your mentor will guide you through your dreams. His life can even serve as a model. Most times a lot of people don't know the kind of stuff they're made of until they've met their mentors. Jim Rohn was one, He never knew he was great until he met Mr Shove. That became a turning point in his life. Ben Ben Carson is one also, who if not for his intuitive mum, would have thrown in the towel at a very tender age. These are just a few of them I've mentioned.
Set time-bound goals. Many young folks have not been able to harness the power of goal setting. Goal setting is one of the things you must do to live up to the challenges compassing you about. Your goals should be set in such a way that they are achievable i.e There should be a well-planned strategy on how to meet your target. Goals are one of the best reminders ever and you'll find it very useful as you go along.
Prayers. You've often heard "prayer changes things". Yes, that's very true. You've got to pray to God to direct your mind or give you a sense of direction and to apply your heart to wisdom. A lot of times things happen to us that are beyond our control. That's when we need a greater power to redirect and show us the way clearly.
Finally, I'll leave you with this quote by Jim Rohn “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges, wish for more wisdom.”
